Corporate Profile

The Company: TECSANA
TECSANA is the company behind the EPI-NO childbirth and pelvic floor trainer. Medical physicians and medical engineers established the company in Munich, Germany at the beginning of 1999. TECSANA's corporate philosophy is to manufacture innovative products that help our customers achieve better childbirth outcomes (less perineal trauma) and sexual health, and work with our trading partners effectively to deliver product to our customers.

The trainer is an excellent example of TECSANA's corporate philosophy. The product is absolutely innovative, revolutionizes birth preparation naturally, and is consistently oriented to the principles of gentle medicine.

Tecsana chose a highly qualified team of experts to assist the product developer, an experienced gynecologist, during the complete development phase of the trainer. This spirit of teamwork will decisively mark the future products of TECSANA, and is the only way to bring innovative, holistically profound, and high quality products to the market.

From 1995 through 1997, the idea for EPI-NO childbirth and pelvic floor trainer was researched, developed and patented worldwide. In 1998, the business case for starting TECSANA was analyzed, and capital secured.

From that point on, the company has been operated very effectively paying attention to every detail from developing the Corporate identity through to worldwide registration of the trademarked name EPI-NO. The company officially celebrated its kickoff in April of 1999, and by May had published the results of its first, and very well received, study.

CE product certification was received in September of 1999. By October, a well-respected parenting magazine, "Eltern", launched the product with an extensive article. Following that, education and promotional materials were sent out to gynecologists and midwives and TECSANA appeared for the first time at a congress for O&G's in Berlin.

By December of 2000, over 10,000 pelvic floor trainers had been sold in Germany. By January of 2001, sales activity had started in many European countries and the product received Health Canada approval in February of 2001. Subsequently, US FDA approval was received in February 2002.

TECSANA is pleased to bring the EPI-NO Childbirth and Pelvic Floor Trainer to North America, and is now embarking on a journey to educate Healthcare Professionals and Consumers as to the use and benefits of the product.
